In the middle of the boundless ocean lies the island Stronghold - and in the Stronghold’s unexplored depths are the two powerful artifacts. No one knows their exact location... at least, no one who is alive today… but long-forgotten legends tell of an ancient people who controlled the skills of the known world from the island. This powerful empire has since vanished into the mists of time - only the impressive architecture of the former leaders' residence remains as a silent witness to the splendor that once existed here.
The huge Stronghold, with towering walls, richly-ornamented pillars and filigree arcades stretches from the island's shores all the way up to the mysterious Temple of Darkness on the peak of a mountain... but don't be fooled by the air of peace and tranquility here... because evil lurks in every corner of this ancient bastion…

The Sun Temple
The adventurous journey of our charming heroine begins in the impressive Sun Temple, the position of which is shown only on Ayumi's old treasure map. The Temple turns out to be an enormous arena flooded with glittering light and enclosed by numerous domed roofs. The domed roofs mainly consist of artificially-made glass windows, which break up the sun's rays a thousand-fold, creating a unique spectacle of light.

The Deserted Coast
The Deserted Coast is part of the island's endless shoreline and acts as an entrance to the main island upon which the Stronghold is built. Right at the heart of this picturesque coastline is a large entrance gate in one of the most beautiful buildings on the entire island. The gate structure's fantastic architecture is absolutely unique - but remains a useless monument to its architect, whose bones have long since crumbled to dust.

Heaven's Steps
The route to the next level of the Stronghold - and consequently to the very heart of the island - can only be taken via the imposing Heaven's Steps. This free-standing, architectural masterpiece winds around the flank of the mountain, spiraling ever-upwards to awe-inspiring heights - but don't be blinded by the brilliance of the construction, because one false step could plunge you to your death in the chasm beneath your feet.

Death Arena
The Death Arena was formerly one of the most beautiful halls in the entire Stronghold. Although only ruins now exist where glorious splendor once ran riot, the Arena still exudes an air of long-forgotten grandeur. Situated majestically on a high plateau, the structure of the gigantic dome rears up towards the cloudy skies - a silent memorial attesting to the fleeting mortality of man.

The Great Gates
The entrance to the main section of the Stronghold High lies above the sea, surrounded by an awe-inspiring mountain landscape. The Great Gates, hewn directly from the stone, consist of two imposing wings which seem to have been made for giants. Flanked by elaborately-designed columns and arcades, the other side of the Great Gates looks out on a cliff plateau - when you stand at the edge, all you can see below are clouds...

The Curved Bridge
One of the finest sights in this fantastic Stronghold is the Curved Bridge. It links the various parts of the Stronghold with one another, swooping around the flank of the mountain in a graceful curve. The bridge seems to hang weightlessly over the abyss - and with its low guard-rail it doesn't exactly inspire confidence if you have a fear of heights! However, the bridge itself will stand for countless centuries, although several of those unbelievably high supports look as if they've seen better days...

The Temple of Darkness
In spite of the architectural affinity of the two structures, the Temple of Darkness is the counterpart of the Sun Temple – but instead of being pierced by the friendly rays of the sun and bathed in glittering light, the Temple of Darkness is totally dominated by a strange and alien darkness. The blaze of illumination through red glass windows creates a menacing atmosphere, enveloping the dome-shaped structure in a diabolical light. The courage and skills of any adventurers who enter this realm of evil will truly be put to the test.
