Besides her two gun blades, Ayumi has many more magic monster-killing talents and attributes, which are either based on combat tactics or the direct use of spells. At the beginning of the game, there are only a small number of skills available - but in time, Ayumi can collect experience points and use them to activate new attributes. For each type of opponent, there are specific combat techniques that can mete out a lot of damage - and if a Boss Opponent happens to be the enemy, it's absolutely vital that the player uses the correct skill to successfully cripple or kill - some examples here are the Fireball, Frost Trap and Ball Lightning combat spells - and there are also various very effective Teleport spells as well.
The basic principle of carrying out skills is "Rage". Ayumi receives Rage units for each successfully completed attack - and even if she attacks herself, the Rage bar on the upper edge of the screen will still fill up. All activated skills with enough Rage units are displayed automatically and can be activated via a shortcut. The required amount of Rage will then be subtracted from Ayumi’s Rage account.
Healing
Replenishes Ayumi's stamina.
Earthquake
A special skill that knocks down all nearby enemies. Does not affect flying enemies.
Fireball
Shoots a fireball toward a target. It explodes, burns and knocks down enemies.
Lightning
Shoots a lightning strike toward a target.
Ice Arrow
The ice arrow freezes its targets. Blades and "Earthquake" are especially effective against frozen enemies.
